Amen. Come Lord Jesus! 12/31/15

Day 364

https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/dramatized/niv/Rev.22

Revelation 22

A further glimpse of the city

22 1-2 Then he showed me the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal as it flowed from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of the street of the city and on either bank of the river grew the tree of life, bearing twelve fruits, a different kind for each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3-5 Nothing that has cursed mankind shall exist any longer; the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be within the city. His servants shall worship him; they shall see his face, and his name will be upon their foreheads. Night shall be no more; they have no more need for either lamplight or sunlight, for the Lord God will shed his light upon them and they shall reign as kings for timeless ages.

The angel endorses the revelation

6 Then the angel said to me, “These words are true and to be trusted, for the Lord God, who inspired the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must shortly happen.”

7 “See, I come quickly! Happy is the man who pays heed to the words of the prophecy in this book.”

John’s personal endorsement

8-9 It is I, John, who have heard and seen these things. At the time when I heard and saw them I fell at the feet of the angel who showed them to me and I was about to worship him. but he said to me, “No! I am fellow-servant to you and to your brother, to the prophets and to those who keep the words of this book. give your worship to God!”

10-11 Then he added, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy in this book, for the time of their fulfilment is near. Let the wicked man continue his wickedness and the filthy man his filthiness; let the good man continue his good deeds, and the holy man continue in holiness.

The interjected words of Christ

12-15 “See, I come quickly! I carry my reward with me, and repay every man according to his deeds. I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the Beginning and the End. Happy are those who wash their robes, for they have the right to the tree of life and the freedom of the gates of the city. Shut out from the city shall be the depraved, the sorcerers, the impure, the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practises a lie!

16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the Churches. I am both the root and stock of David, and the bright star of the morning!”

The invitation of the Church and the Spirit

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” Let everyone who hears this also say, “Come!” Let the thirsty man come, and let everyone who wishes take the water of life as a gift.

John’s testimony to this book

18-19 Now I bear solemn witness to every man who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If anyone adds to these words God will add to him the disasters described in this book; if anyone takes away from the words of prophecy in this book, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city which are described in this book.

20 He, who is witness to all this, says, “Yes, I am coming very quickly!” “Amen, come Lord Jesus!”

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all his people.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 5:3
A sense of need is always at the base of our making progress in the Christian life. This is a spiritual principle. To be poor in spirit means that we sense our need for God, realizing that we have absolutely nothing in ourselves. What often motivates us to spend more time with the Lord is an ever deepening realization of our need of Him. So our sense of need becomes the factor of our spiritual progress because it causes us to seek Him and spend time with Him.
To be without a sense of need in our Christian life is a sure sign of spiritual decay. The Lord's diagnosis of the church in Laodicea in Revelation 3:14- 20 reveals that lukewarmness, pride, and self- sufficiency are all directly related to a lack of spending time with the Lord. He says to the Laodiceans, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me" (v. 20). The Lord was virtually saying to them that they had not opened the door of their hearts to spend time with Him in fellowship. Yet He is also patiently standing at the door and knocking, seeking to get His believers to find time to dine with Him. The Greek verb deipneo, translated "dine" or "sup" in Revelation 3:20, refers to the daily time that was set apart to eat the main meal. In Luke 14:17 it is called "the dinner hour" (NASV). In other words, the Lord's supreme desire for us is that we would sense the need to have a daily dinner hour, spending time with Him.

A New Heaven and New Earth. 12/30/15

Day 363

https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/dramatized/niv/Rev.21

Revelation 21

The New Heaven and the New Earth

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place[a] of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,[b] and God himself will be with them as their God.[c] 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

The New Jerusalem

9 Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed— 13 on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls. 16 The city lies foursquare, its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia.[d] Its length and width and height are equal. 17 He also measured its wall, 144 cubits[e] by human measurement, which is also an angel's measurement. 18 The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. 23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, 25 and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. 26 They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. 27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ." Ephesians 1:3
The Lord builds the church with brothers and sisters who handle everything in their daily life with Christ. God's intention is that Christ would be our relationship with every item in our lives, whether inward or outward. But His intention does not extend just to us. Have you ever realized that even the Father Himself handles everything with Christ? He handles the entire universe with Christ. He does not touch the universe apart from Christ.
It is enlightening to see that the Father handled His eternal purpose, His plan, and the good pleasure of His will with His Son. Ephesians 1:3- 4 says, 3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before Him in love." In eternity past the Father chose us in His Son, His Beloved. This is how the Father began to handle the universe. Before the universe was created, the Father was at the "drawing board" considering all those who would be in His family and who would be part of His habitation for eternity. And what came out was an eternal plan that had everything to do with His Son. God did not come forth with a plan that was apart from His Son. The Father's plan was in Christ. And the Father chose us in Christ.
Verse 5 continues, "having predestined us to sonship throughJesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will." It was the Father's good pleasure to handle His eternal plan with Christ. God's good pleasure is to have many sons. He has predestined us for this. But He has done it through Jesus Christ and through His redemption. It is by His one unique Son that God gets His many sons

Satan finally destroyed!! 12/29/15

Day 362

https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/dramatized/niv/Rev.20

Revelation 20

Satan bound for a thousand years

20 1-3 Then I saw an angel coming down from Heaven with the key of the pit and a huge chain in his hand. He seized the dragon, the serpent of ancient days, who is both the devil and Satan, and bound him fast for a thousand years. Then he hurled him into the pit, and locked and sealed it over his head, so that he could deceive the nations no more until the thousand years were past. But then he must be set free for a little while.

The first resurrection

4-6 And I saw thrones, with appointed judges seated upon them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been executed for their witness to Jesus and for proclaiming the Word of God—those who never worshipped the animal or its statue, and had not accepted its mark upon their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were over.) This is the first resurrection. Happy and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! The second death cannot touch such men; they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him for the thousand years.

Satan finally destroyed

7-8 Then, when the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison, and will set out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, and to lead them into battle. They will be as numerous as the sand of the seashore.

9-10 They came up and spread over the breadth of the earth; they encircled the army of the saints defending the beloved city. But fire came down from the sky and consumed them. The devil who deceived them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur to join the animal and the false prophet. And there they shall be tortured day and night for timeless ages.

The final judgment

11 And then I saw a great white throne, and one seated upon it from whose presence both earth and sky fled and vanished.

12-13 Then I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne and the books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books concerning what they had done. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up the dead which were in them. And men were judged, each according to what he had done.

14-15 Then death and the grave were themselves hurled into the lake of fire, which is the second death. If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Rejoicing in Heaven. 12/28/15

Day 361

https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/dramatized/niv/Rev.19

Revelation 19

Rejoicing in Heaven

After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out,

“Hallelujah!

Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,

2     for his judgments are true and just;

for he has judged the great prostitute

who corrupted the earth with her immorality,

and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”[a]

3 Once more they cried out,

“Hallelujah!

The smoke from her goes up forever and ever.”

4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who was seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” 5 And from the throne came a voice saying,

“Praise our God,

    all you his servants,

you who fear him,

    small and great.”

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,

“Hallelujah!

For the Lord our God

    the Almighty reigns.

7 Let us rejoice and exult

    and give him the glory,

for the marriage of the Lamb has come,

    and his Bride has made herself ready;

8 it was granted her to clothe herself

with fine linen, bright and pure”—

for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

9 And the angel said[b] to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” 10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant[c] with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

The Rider on a White Horse

11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in[d] blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to all the birds that fly directly overhead, “Come, gather for the great supper of God, 18 to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave,[e] both small and great.” 19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. 20 And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence[f] had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. 21 And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

"Unto an administration of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in Him." Ephesians 1:10 (ASV)
God's economy is His administration, or the working out of His plan from eternity past through time into eternity future. This administration overarches the history of humanity according to the divine will in this universe. Within this administration there are various periods of time, commonly referred to as "dispensations." Thus, dispensation is an aspect of the word "economy." This is seen in Ephesians 1:10, where "economy," or administration, is related to "the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ." This shows that God's administration embraces time periods. In this qualified sense, administration or economy is understood as "dispensation" when it refers to a time period or a stage within the overall carrying out of God's administration.
Economy, stewardship, administration, and dispensation are all translations of the same Greek word, oikonomia. This word has a compound meaning, including the word law and the word house. It may be understood as "the law of the house." These root meanings have evolved into the idea of the management of a household. Thus, God's economy is His management of the universe. This is the economy of God. He has a plan and a purpose. He is governed by His own purpose. He created this universe to administrate His purpose. Everything that frustrates God's purpose, He is dealing with according to His own management, to bring it into line to match His purpose. Thus, it is not a small matter to experience Christ and let Him occupy our soul. This kind of experience is dispensational in nature. It is related to God's over- all administration. To live with our soul- life dependent on God, and not seek to save it or love it, is to correspond with God at this time in history. By this we cooperate with His administration for the specific purpose of ushering in the kingdom age.

The Kings of the Earth will weep. 12/27/15

Day 360

https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/dramatized/niv/Rev.18

Revelation 18

The final overthrow of Babylon

18 1-3 Later I saw another angel coming down from Heaven, armed with great authority. The earth shone with the splendour of his presence, and he cried in a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a haunt of devils, a prison for every unclean spirit, and a cage for every foul and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk the wine of her passionate unfaithfulness and have fallen thereby. The kings of the earth have debauched themselves with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the extravagance of her dissipation!”

4-8 Then I heard another voice from Heaven, crying, “Come out from her, O my people, lest you become accomplices in her sins and must share in her punishment. For her sins have mounted up to the sky, and God has remembered the tale of her wickedness. Pay her back in her own coin—yes, pay her back double for all that she has done! In the cup which she mixed for others mix her a drink of double strength! For the pride in which she flaunted herself give her torture and misery! Because she says to herself, ‘Here I sit a queen on a throne; I am no woman who lacks a man and I shall never know sorrow!’ So in a single day her punishments shall strike her—death, sorrow and famine and she shall be burned in the fire. For mighty is the Lord God who judges her!”

The lament over the city

9-10 Then the kings of the earth, who debauched and indulged themselves with her, will wail and lament over her. Standing at a safe distance through very fear of her torment, they will watch the smoke of her burning and cry, “Alas, alas for the great city, Babylon the mighty city, that your judgment should come in a single hour.”

11-14 The merchants of the earth shall also wail and lament over her, for there is no one left to buy their goods—cargoes of gold and silver, jewels and pearls, fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet, all kinds of scented wood, every sort of ivory vessel, every kind of vessel of precious wood, of bronze, iron and marble; cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour and corn; cattle, sheep and horses; chariots, slaves, the very souls of men.

15-17a Those who bought and sold these things, who had gained their wealth from her, will stand afar off through fear of her punishment, weeping and lamenting and saying, “Alas, alas for the great city that was dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and was bedecked with gold and jewels and pearls—alas that in a single hour all that wealth should be destroyed!”

17b-18 Then every shipmaster and seafarer—sailors and all whose business is upon the sea—stood and watched the smoke of her burning from afar, and cried out, “What city was ever like the great city?”

19 They even threw dust on their heads and cried aloud as they wept, saying, “Alas, alas for the great city where all who had ships on the sea grew wealthy through the richness of her treasure! Alas that in a single hour she should be ruined!”

A comment in the background

20 “Rejoice over her fate, O Heaven, and all you saints, apostles and prophets! For God has pronounced his judgment for you against her!”

The words of Babylon’s doom

21-23a Then a mighty angel lifted up a stone like a huge mill-stone and hurled it into the sea, saying, “So shall Babylon the great city be sent hurtling down to disappear for ever! Never more shall the sound of harpists and musicians, flute-players and trumpeters be heard in you again! Never again shall a craftsman of any craft be found in you; never again will the sound of the mill-stone’s grinding be heard in you! No light of a lamp shall ever shine in you again, and the voices of bridegroom and bride shall be heard in you no more! The fruit of your soul’s desire is lost to you for ever. All your luxuries and brilliance are lost to you and men will never find them in you again!

23b “For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were seduced by your witchery!”

24 For in her was discovered the blood of prophets and saints, indeed the blood of all who were ever slaughtered upon the earth.

Is Your name written in His Book? 12/26/15

Day 359

https://www.biblegateway.com/audio/dramatized/niv/Rev.17

Revelation 17

The judgment of the evil woman announced

17 1-2 Then came one of the seven angels who held the seven bowls, and said to me, “Come, and I will show you the judgment passed upon the great harlot who is seated upon many waters. It is with her that the kings of the earth have debauched themselves and the inhabitants of the earth have become drunk on the wine of her filthiness.”

The gorgeous mother of evil

3-5 Then he carried me away in spirit into the desert. There I saw a woman riding upon a scarlet animal, covered with blasphemous titles and having seven heads and ten horns. The woman herself was dressed in purple and scarlet, glittering with gold, jewels and pearls. In her hand she held a golden cup full of the earth’s filthiness and her own foul impurity. On her forehead is written a name with a secret meaning—BABYLON THE GREAT, MOTHER OF ALL HARLOTS AND OF THE EARTH’S ABOMINATIONS.

The vision explained

6a Then I noticed that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints and of the martyrs for Jesus.

6b-8 As I watched her, I was filled with utter amazement, but the angel said to me, “Why are you amazed? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the animal with seven heads and ten horns which carries her. The animal, which you saw, once lived but now is no more—it will come up out of the pit only to meet with destruction. The inhabitants of the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be utterly astonished when they see that the animal was, and is not, and yet is to come.

9-11 (Here we need a mind with understanding.) “The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman takes her seat. There are also seven kings; five have been dethroned, one reigns and the other has not yet appeared—when he comes he must remain only for a short time. As for the animal which once lived but now lives no longer, it is an eighth king which belongs to the seven, but it goes to utter destruction.

12-14 The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have not yet received their power to reign, but they will receive authority to be kings for one hour in company with the animal. They are of one mind, and they will hand over their power and authority to the animal. They will all go to war with the Lamb, and the Lamb, with his called, chosen and faithful followers, will conquer them. For he is Lord of lords and King of kings.”

15-17 Then he said to me, “As for the waters which you saw, on which the woman took her seat, they are peoples and vast crowds, nations and languages. The ten horns and the animal which you saw will loathe the harlot, and leave her deserted and naked. Moreover, they will devour her flesh, and then consume her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by making them of one mind, and by handing over their authority to the animal, until the words of God have been fulfilled.

18 “The woman that you saw is the great city which dominates the kings of the earth.”

"Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his soul- life will lose it, and whoever loses his soul- life for My sake will find it." Matthew 16:24- 25
To lose our soul- life means losing our soul- life as the initiator! In these verses the Lord is saying, "Lose setting your mind on the things of men. Lose it! Take Me! You will find your soul when you take Me as your relationship with all things. Your relationship to your self is Me! Lose your self; do not find your self. When you lose your self to find Me, then you will find your self in a proper way." For the church to be in the reality of Christ, we need many experiences of starting to do something out of ourself and then stopping ourself by calling on the Lord. By this we bring our being back to Christ. We sink back into our mingled spirit. We stop ourself from initiating, thinking, acting, deliberating, and bring ourself back to Christ as our source. At that point, we lose our soul- life. The more we lose our soul- life, the more Satan comes out of our system, and the more Satan cannot destroy the church through our undealt- with mind and opinion.
When Peter took the initiative to rebuke the Lord concerning His going to the cross, the Lord looked at him and said, "Get behind Me, Satan!" That means Satan was in Peter's system. He was occupying Peter's soul. This is where the problems and division in the church really come from our undealt- with soul. Satan will be ejected out of our system if day by day and hour by hour we do not initiate anything, but lose our soul- life to find it in Christ. When the self initiates things, Satan is unrestrained in his attack on the church. We must all learn not to initiate! Do not live! Do not reason! Do not introspect yourself! Just say, "Lord, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!" Then, like Peter, we will learn to eject Satan out of our system; and our independent, undealt- with self will not be Satan's door into the church
